Transport Energy Cleanup Programme

EDM number 699 in 2003-04, proposed by David Kidney on 26/02/2004.

That this House welcomes the major contribution to air quality in towns achieved by the Department for Transport and Energy Savings Trust's Energy Clean-up programme and its funding for fitting, in advance of legislative standards, transport pollution control technology to buses, vans and lorries; regrets the early end to the programme in 2003-04 and the damage this will cause both to air quality and to manufacturers of transport pollution control technology; and calls on the Department for Transport to commit funding for the programme in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07 to meet market demand for transport pollution control technologies.

This motion has been signed by a total of 46 MPs.
