Fifa And Uefa

EDM number 1028 in 2004-05, proposed by Tony Banks on 05/04/2005.

That this House draws attention to the pitch invasion, rioting and looting that took place during and after the recent World Cup qualifying game between Mali and Togo; further draws attention to the rioting, racist behaviour and destruction of property in Celje caused by German fans after the recent `friendly' against Slovenia; firmly believes that if anything like the behaviour of fans in Mali or Slovenia had involved English fans, officials from FIFA and UEFA would have taken to the world's airways in condemnation and demanded England's expulsion from competitions; further believes it is remarkable but wholly predictable that FIFA and UEFA have remained totally silent on these recent events and that this is symptomatic of the utter hypocrisy and anti-English prejudice within both governing bodies of football.

This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
