Humanitarian Need

EDM number 530 in 2004-05, proposed by John MacDougall on 17/01/2005.

That this House recognises the efforts of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Exchequer to address the humanitarian issues surrounding natural disasters in Indonesia and Africa; welcomes the extensive media coverage that encouraged such an overwhelming response from the British people; and encourages the media to give similar coverage to Africa, especially Darfur, where 150,000 people per month perish.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
