QUEEN'S LANCASHIRE REGIMENT

EDM number 1048 in 2005-06, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 16/11/2005.

That this House notes the exemplary record of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment which has won more battle honours than any other regiment, is the only regiment ever to have fought on every continent, and has won 19 Victoria Cross medals; pays tribute to Colonel Jorge Mendonca for receiving the Distinguished Service Order in June last year for his bravery and leadership during the regiment's deployment to Basra; and looks forward to a strong and vibrant future for the regiment, whose strength rests with its strong recruitment ground in Lancashire and the North West.
