Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, The National Anthem Of Wales

EDM number 1095 in 2005-06, proposed by Adam Price on 23/11/2005.

That this House joins the Welsh nation in celebrating the 150th anniversary of the composition of the Welsh national anthem in January; notes that the words and tune to the anthem were composed by father and son Evan and James James from Pontypridd in 1856; further notes that Royal Mail speedily produced stamps to mark the recent Ashes victory; calls on Royal Mail to issue specific stamps to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the National Anthem for Wales; and further calls on the Department for Trade and Industry to devolve responsibility for issuing stamps if Royal Mail continue to fail to reflect Wales' historical and cultural differences.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
