Mental Health Services In London

EDM number 1124 in 2005-06, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 28/11/2005.

That this House recognises that, as a major world city, London's mental health needs are great; acknowledges that mental health should be strategically addressed by the Government and the NHS but that other institutions like local authorities, schools and employers also have a significant role; welcomes improved provision for those with mental health needs but would wish to see further significant improvement; notes that there is a growing body of evidence to suggest that initiatives such as reducing stress, promoting physical activity and increasing employment opportunities can improve people's mental health; and urges the Government to ensure that the mental health needs of London are fully addressed.

This motion has been signed by a total of 58 MPs.
