Territorial Army Health Care
EDM number 1250 in 2005-06, proposed by Andrew Rosindell on 13/12/2005.
That this House recognises the extraordinary role the Territorial Army has played in armed conflicts since its inception in 1907; further recognises its continued service in Iraq as critical to the success of British operations, but notes with grave concern reports of cases like Corporal Dave Corrigan who sought out private treatment costing £2,100 after being given insufficient treatment having been wounded in Iraq which illustrates that many reservists are being forced to seek and sometimes pay for their own treatment; and calls on the Government to put the correct planning in place to ensure that wounded reservists are given the same treatment as regular servicemen recognising that such issues can only exacerbate the current recruiting crisis engulfing the Territorial Army.
