Bristol Evening Post And Western Daily Press

EDM number 1256 in 2005-06, proposed by David Drew on 13/12/2005.

That this House recognises the importance of local and regional newspapers in reporting the democratic process and holding politicians to account; further recognises the historical role played by the Bristol Evening Post and Western Daily Press in providing an invaluable service to their respective communities; and therefore condemns proposals by Northcliffe newspapers to sack 36 journalists across both titles.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
