FUNDING OF EAST ANGLIA'S CHILDREN'S HOSPICES

EDM number 1258 in 2005-06, proposed by Brooks Newmark on 13/12/2005.

That this House pays tribute to East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), one of England's largest hospice organisations; notes with concern that EACH is proposing to make 25 full-time staff redundant due to funding shortfalls; recognises that this will have a significant impact on the level of care and support that the organisation provides to over 350 children and families across East Anglia; further notes that only 10 per cent. of its £4.7 million annual running costs are met by funding from statutory agencies; and calls upon the Government to address the future funding of children's hospices by ensuring that primary care trusts make a fair contribution to the cost of services that the hospices provide on behalf of the NHS.

This motion has been signed by a total of 67 MPs.
