2007 Tour De France In London

EDM number 1465 in 2005-06, proposed by Don Foster on 24/01/2006.

That this House welcomes confirmation that the 2007 Tour de France will start in London; notes that this is only the third time in the Tour's history of over 100 years that it has visited England; celebrates the return of the sporting entente cordiale after last summer's Olympic showdown; acknowledges the popularity and success of British cycling in international competition; and further acknowledges the enormous benefits to public health and the environment, and of reducing congestion, that cycling offers.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
