National Marriage Week, 7th - 14th February

EDM number 1602 in 2005-06, proposed by Maria Miller on 08/02/2006.

That this House recognises the importance of marriage in British society, both as a source of personal happiness and for providing a stable and loving environment for bringing up children; welcomes the efforts of the Futureway Trust in organising National Marriage Week; and believes that more should be done to encourage families of all forms to come together and stay together, given the fundamental role families play as a building block of society.

This motion has been signed by a total of 63 MPs.
