Death Of Arthur Sutherwood

That this House regrets the death of Arthur Sutherwood in February 2006; commends his voluntary work for the Nautical Training Corps (NTC), a uniformed organisation dedicated to the education and recreation of children and young people in all aspects of the sea; notes that Arthur served as Commanding Officer of Training Ship Courageous in Crawley from 1961 to 1963, as Chief Officer from 1963 to 1975, as Vice Commander from 1975 to 1982, as Commander from 1982 to 1999 and then as President of the NTC from 1999 until his death; and recognises Arthur's unstinting voluntary service for so many years to help children and young people as a fine example to everyone.
