Dee Caffari

EDM number 2411 in 2005-06, proposed by Desmond Turner on 20/06/2006.

That this House congratulates Dee Caffari for becoming, in her yacht Aviva, the first woman to sail solo and non-stop around the world against the prevailing winds and currents; welcomes her back on dry land after six months at sea; praises the logistical team who worked tirelessly 24 hours a day supporting Ms Caffari in her challenge; applauds Aviva and Challenge Business International for supporting initiatives like this; and encourages business and government to continue to engage in similar challenges to promote the UK as a centre of sporting excellence in the run up to the 2012 Olympics.
