That this House notes that the difference in prize money between male and female tennis champions at Wimbledon is 4.6 per cent; recognises that the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport has highlighted this matter; wishes to emphasise that in the workplace the gender pay gap is greater at 17 per cent; notes that for men and women working part-time the pay gap is 40 per cent; further notes that across the Civil Service the average pay difference between men and women is 25 per cent; calls on the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport also to concentrate on the gender pay gap in her Department by publishing details of the Equal Pay Review conducted in 2003; and calls on the Government to take urgent action to tackle gender pay inequality, which can affect employees across all sectors.
