Walking The Way To Health Scheme

EDM number 2805 in 2005-06, proposed by Mark Williams on 19/10/2006.

That this House is concerned about social exclusion and isolation in older people in the UK; notes that circulatory diseases, such as coronary heart disease, are the main cause of death for those over 65; commends Age Concern Ceredigion for their Walking their Way to Health scheme, which aims to improve suppleness, strength, mobility and well being in over 55 year olds by organising risk-assessed and expert-led walks by trained leaders; and calls on the Government to offer every assistance it can to help secure funding for the scheme after February 2007.

This motion has been signed by a total of 28 MPs.
