Connecting Villages To The Gas Network

EDM number 287 in 2005-06, proposed by Michael Clapham on 08/06/2005.

That this House calls for a new initiative between the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Department of Trade and Industry and Transco to extend the gas network to rural and semi-rural villages currently denied it, particularly in the Barnsley West and Penistone constituency, where some villages are situated less than a mile from the network, thereby making a real improvement to people's lives by tackling fuel poverty and furthering economic and social inclusion.

This motion has been signed by a total of 53 MPs.
