Jack Nicklaus And The 2005 Open Golf Championship

That this House notes that the Open Golf Championship 2005 will be the last in which Jack Nicklaus competes; pays tribute to the unrivalled contribution which he has made to the game of golf; further notes the success which he has enjoyed as a golfer, with particular reference to the 18 major golf championships which he has won, which remains a record by a considerable distance; recognises that many believe him to be the greatest golfer ever to have played the game; further notes the great affection in which he is held by the golfing public; in particular notes that he has been, and remains a great ambassador for golf and indeed for sport in general, and has inspired countless people across the world; and wishes him and his family well for the future.
