Far East Prisoners Of War Memorial

EDM number 592 in 2005-06, proposed by Anthony D Wright on 14/07/2005.

That this House welcomes the fact that on 15th August a lasting memorial to Far East Prisoners of War will be opened at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire; congratulates the successful campaign that has achieved the memorial's opening on the anniversary of VJ day; and congratulates in particular Carol Cooper and the members of the Children of Far East Prisoners of War for their tireless efforts to establish a lasting memorial.
