Hospice Funding

EDM number 731 in 2005-06, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 11/10/2005.

That this House pays tribute to the work of hospices throughout the UK; recognises the excellent work carried out by staff and volunteers to provide the highest quality of care and the dedication and time people give to raising the necessary funds in order that hospices can provide this first class service; welcomes the Government's commitment of the £50 million fund for hospices to improve palliative care services as part of the NHS Plan; and calls on the Government to ensure that this funding is directed where it is needed and to increase the amount of funding to hospices in order to provide them with a long-term viable future.

This motion has been signed by a total of 87 MPs.
