Lpg And Cleaner Vehicles
EDM number 74 in 2005-06, proposed by Alan Duncan on 17/05/2005.
That this House believes that the increasing number of vehicles in the United Kingdom propelled by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is a sign that the public increasingly recognises the environmental and health benefits of liquefied petroleum gas over petrol and diesel; notes the significant contribution that a switch to LPG from diesel would make to improving air quality and one from petrol to LPG would make to reducing carbon dioxide emissions; believes that all new or refurbished filling stations should be encouraged to provide liquefied petroleum gas refuelling facilities; and calls on the Government to take measures to encourage the take-up of cleaner, greener fuels and the development of more efficient, environmentally friendly vehicles.
