Raising Allowances For The Lower Paid

EDM number 788 in 2005-06, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 18/10/2005.

That this House calls for the raising of the personal allowance and the level at which individuals begin paying national insurance contributions to £10,000 per annum for 2006-07, in order that those in lower paid employment can see meaningful benefit in working, whether they have dependants or not, and employers paying wages in the region of £200 per week to employees suffer no additional payroll administration in offering legitimate working hours as a result.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
