Increases In Fuel Prices

EDM number 941 in 2005-06, proposed by Lynne Jones on 02/11/2005.

That this House notes the decision by British Gas to increase gas prices by 14 per cent.; further notes that other suppliers are increasing their prices and that this comes after previous increases; and calls on the Government to ensure that the basic state pension and all pensioner means-tested benefits are increased to compensate fully for the increases in fuel prices and to extend the winter fuel allowance to those who are severely disabled.
