Commonwealth Day 2007

That this House marks Commonwealth Day 2007 on Monday 12th March, the theme for which is respecting difference and promoting understanding, on which the Commonwealth leads, being an organisation of great diversity including countries of different size, wealth, ethnicity and religion, but united in freedom and equality and working together to achieve peace and harmony and to overcome inequality and injustice, a fundamental starting point for which is the advancement of parliamentary democracy, the mission of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK Branch, which the branch promotes through its annual programme of seminars and inter-parliamentary exchanges.
