Inheritance And Equality

EDM number 1070 in 2006-07, proposed by Harry Cohen on 07/03/2007.

That this House notes that Lord Lambton, who died in December 2006, left his entire estate to his only son, whilst there was no provision for his five daughters; and considers that the law should be altered so that a court can change inheritance arrangements in cases where prejudice on grounds of sex is apparent and cases are contested.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
