Sexual Health Awareness For Women
EDM number 11 in 2006-07, proposed by Lorely Burt on 15/11/2006.
That this House understands the importance of easily available sexual health information, testing and support, particularly for women; calls for the Government to go further in trying to tackle the huge increase in sexually transmitted infections; notes that prevention is far better and cheaper than cure; notes that untreated sexually transmitted infections can have damaging and lasting effects for women, and can be a common cause of infertility; calls for the Government to ensure that young women are provided with information about sexually transmitted infections when obtaining the morning after pill; and calls for the Government to urge primary care trusts not further to cut funding to sexual health clinics, as they play such a vital role in promoting sexual health.
