Staffordshire Regiment

EDM number 1226 in 2006-07, proposed by Joan Walley on 27/03/2007.

That this House notes with pride that the Staffordshire Regiment's First Battalion is currently serving with distinction in Basra, where members of the Regiment are helping to keep the peace, reconstruct the country's infrastructure and vital services and train Iraq's security personnel while daily coming under attack from mortar fire, small arms fire and roadside bombs; shares the sense of grief and loss for those who have lost their lives and those who have been injured in the line of duty; and sends the Regiment and all who are connected with it best wishes for the remainder of the current tour of duty and a safe return home.

This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
