The Sky At Night

EDM number 1229 in 2006-07, proposed by Bob Spink on 27/03/2007.

That this House notes the 50th anniversary of The Sky at Night; congratulates all involved in the oldest television science programme in the world and particularly its irrepressible, charming and able presenter Sir Patrick Moore; acknowledges the programme's contribution to increasing awareness in, understanding of and enthusiasm for the universe, astronomy and therefore science across all age groups; looks forward to the 650th programme, to be screened on 24th April; and calls on the BBC to continue to cherish this much loved national institution.

This motion has been signed by a total of 52 MPs.
