Launch Of Model Health Inquiry

EDM number 1548 in 2006-07, proposed by Richard Younger-Ross on 23/05/2007.

That this House welcomes the launch of the independent Model Health inquiry; notes that the inquiry will respond quickly to the many issues surrounding Model Health with a final report expected to be published in September; further notes that it is backed by the British Fashion Council, the London Development Agency, Marks and Spencer and The Work Foundation; reiterates its concern about the impact that the desire to achieve small sizes, in particular size zero, has on young women's health; and recognises the importance of drawing up guidelines to help British employers of catwalk models tackle any material size-related health concerns and the measures needed to manage the health of London Fashion Week models.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
