Cutty Sark

EDM number 1596 in 2006-07, proposed by Hugo Swire on 04/06/2007.

That this House is shocked and horrified at the Cutty Sark fire; notes the extensive damage to the decking and ironwork of the ship; notes that the ship was saved from further damage as a result of restoration work that has seen half the ship removed for repair; notes the ship's status as the sole surviving tea clipper and a UNESCO World Heritage site; supports the campaign to fully restore the ship; and commends the excellent work being carried out by the Cutty Sark Trust, the charity that owns and runs the ship to achieve this.

This motion has been signed by a total of 57 MPs.
