Re-Registration Of Vehicles

EDM number 1630 in 2006-07, proposed by John Hemming on 06/06/2007.

That this House notes that the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) will not agree to the re-registration of vehicles of which number plates have been stolen until such a stage as a number of crimes have occurred; believes that this is an unnecessarily relaxed approach to the problem of car cloning and causes unnecessary distress to the victims of such acts; and calls for the DVLA to change its procedures to be more responsive and allow early re-registration.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
