Darcey Bussell Cbe

EDM number 1726 in 2006-07, proposed by Hugo Swire on 18/06/2007.

That this House congratulates Darcey Bussell on a glittering 20 year career at the Royal Opera House (ROH); notes that she became the youngest ever ROH chief performer at the age of 20; further notes that she went on to become the most successful British classical ballerina of her generation; further notes that as well as huge critical success in the UK, Bussell has enjoyed guest appearances across the world; further notes that she has chosen to retire whilst still at the pinnacle of British ballet; and commends her final performance in Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Song of the Earth as a stunning example of her work.

This motion has been signed by a total of 48 MPs.
