That this House notes the new EU Roaming Regulation which will reduce the amount that consumers pay for using their mobile phones abroad; welcomes the new Eurotariff which will take general effect for consumers from September with calls anywhere in Europe costing no more than 49 cents, about 38 pence including VAT, per minute to make and no more than 24 cents, about 19 pence including VAT, to receive; notes that mobile phone operators must advise customers by the end of July 2007 of the Eurotariff; calls upon operators to do so without undue delay; advises customers that by responding early to their operator's offer of the new Eurotariff they will receive it within four weeks and so benefit earlier than 30th September; and commends OFCOM, the European Commission and Government ministers for developing this legislation delivering an average reduction in retail prices of more than 50 per cent. for most users.
