Postal Service

EDM number 2080 in 2006-07, proposed by John McDonnell on 10/10/2007.

That this House notes that the postal service is invaluable to communities across the United Kingdom; further notes that there is continuing industrial action over pay and cuts to jobs and services; is concerned at the failure of Royal Mail management to resolve the dispute, despite the continued willingness of the Communication Workers Union to negotiate; and therefore calls upon the Government as sole shareholder, and on the Prime Minister personally, to intervene to settle this dispute for the good of the United Kingdom postal service and its hardworking employees.

This motion has been signed by a total of 32 MPs.
