Dr James Watson And Race

EDM number 2148 in 2006-07, proposed by Diane Abbott on 17/10/2007.

That this House is alarmed by the alleged comments made by Dr James Watson during a newspaper interview concerning the relationship between race and intelligence; notes with concern that Dr. Watson is due to begin a series of talks throughout the UK on 24th October; notes that his alleged comments are altogether unscientific and unsophisticated; and further notes that scientific research in the past has proven that there are more genetic differences within races than there are between them.

This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
