Primary Care Trusts
EDM number 617 in 2006-07, proposed by John Grogan on 11/01/2007.
That this House notes that approximately 90 per cent. of NHS care takes place outside hospitals and that primary care trusts (PCTs) provide an essential but undervalued role serving communities across England; further notes the complexity of the work delivered by PCTs and the difficult decisions about spending priorities they oversee; offers its support to the new reconfigured and unreconfigured PCTs in the challenges ahead as they work to deliver joined-up and personalised care for patients; and welcomes the work by the NHS Confederation to highlight the real people working hard in PCTs to deliver first class services to patients and the public.
