Make It Fair For Fans Campaign

EDM number 968 in 2006-07, proposed by Graham Stringer on 23/02/2007.

That this House congratulates the Manchester Evening News on initiating the campaign `Make it Fair for Fans', the aim of which is to reduce the ticket price at Premiership grounds following the extra £2.3 billion that Premiership clubs will receive for television rights, and notes that this campaign has already persuaded Bolton Wanderers, Manchester City and Wigan Athletic football clubs in Greater Manchester to reduce their prices and has led to a national campaign, supported by Steve McClaren, Brian Barwick, Kevin Nolan, Bryan Robson, Gordon Taylor and Dave Whelan, amongst others; and supports the newly launched petition on the Manchester Evening News website which will give the opportunity to all fans to register their support for the campaign.

This motion has been signed by a total of 45 MPs.
