EDM number 123 in 2007-08, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 07/11/2007.
Categorised under the topics of Alcoholism and Consumers.
That this House welcomes the work of alcohol producers and retailers in seeking to provide lower alcohol wines for customers; recognises the important role this can play in giving wine consumers greater choice; and calls upon the Government to ask the European Commission to remove prohibitions against reverse osmosis or spinning cone technology used to reduce alcohol, which are widely used in other wine-making countries and which present no threat to consumer health.
This motion has been signed by a total of 31 MPs.
