Hannah Miley And Swimming Facilities In Aberdeen

That this House congratulates Hannah Miley on breaking the European and Commonwealth records for the 400 metre individual medley at the World Short Course swimming championships in Manchester in April 2008 which also saw Hannah win her first senior international medal at the age of 18; notes that Hannah is one of three swimmers alongside David Carry and Robert Renwick from North East Scotland to make it into the Olympic swimming team for the Beijing Games in summer 2008; welcomes the recent decision by the Scottish Executive to provide financial support to the new 50 metre pool proposed by Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeen University; and wishes all those swimming for Team GB every success in the Beijing Games.
