That this House welcomes the selection of Glasgow as the host city for the 2014 Commonwealth Games; congratulates and thanks all of those who have worked so hard over recent years, and across political divides, to make this bid a reality; notes that the Commonwealth Games will be a great showcase for Scotland as a modern and ambitious country; welcomes the social and economic dividend that the Games will bring; and looks forward to the role that the build up to the Games can play in inspiring Scots of all ages to take part in sport.
