Glasgow: City Of Music

EDM number 2169 in 2007-08, proposed by John Mason on 06/10/2008.
Categorised under the topic of Performing arts.

That this House congratulates Glasgow on its successful bid to join UNESCO's worldwide Creative Cities Network as City of Music; believes this is a great boost for Glasgow, coming hot on the heels of winning the 2014 Commonwealth Games; considers UNESCO's recognition of Glasgow as a fitting tribute to the creativity and vibrancy of Glasgow and Glaswegians; and notes the accolade means that Scotland has become the only nation in the world to win two UNESCO `Creative Cities', as Glasgow joins Edinburgh which was awarded City of Literature in 2004.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
