Industry Taskforce On Peak Oil And Energy Security

EDM number 2389 in 2007-08, proposed by John Hemming on 30/10/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Coal, Consumers, Energy conservation and Oil, petrol and natural gas.

That this House welcomes the report from leading British companies, including Virgin, Stagecoach, Scottish and Southern Energy and Solarcentury, which are part of the Industry Taskforce on Peak Oil and Energy Security, highlighting concerns that cheap sources of easy to obtain fossil fuels are moving towards their greatest availability and will then decline in availability; notes that this is confirmed by the International Energy Agency; and calls for the Government to find a sense of urgency in acting to reduce energy usage, to reduce the price of energy and to reduce energy bills of consumers.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
