Pigswill Feeders

EDM number 688 in 2007-08, proposed by George Howarth on 14/01/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Animal diseases and Farmers.

That this House notes that the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman's investigation into the pigswill ban following the discovery of foot and mouth disease in 2001 concluded that there had been two counts of maladministration; finds it surprising that no recommendation was made to compensate pigswill feeders; and calls on the Government to consider compensating the 62 farmers who were part of the Ombudsman's inquiry.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
