Nortel Job Losses

That this House notes with regret the recent job losses at Nortel in Newtownabbey; is alarmed that the administrators Ernst and Young have ignored employment law in respect of redundancy notices and pay; further notes that £23 million has been made available for bonus payments for managers, and that £40 million is to be paid to the London Olympics which the company had agreed to sponsor; and calls on the company to ensure that workers receive their redundancy payments in full.
