Text Life For Peace For Israel, Peace For Gaza Campaign

EDM number 464 in 2008-09, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 15/01/2009.
Categorised under the topics of International politics and government, Middle East and Military operations.

That this House recognises the need for a sustainable peace in the Middle East, in which both Israelis and Gazans can live their lives, free from the hateful and violent ideology of Hamas; commends to all hon. Members the initiative launched by the Jewish community at the Peace for Israel, Peace for Gaza rally in Trafalgar Square on 11 January, whereby all advocates of peace have been urged to text the word LIFE to 81400 in order to raise funds, which will be divided equally between aid efforts in both Israel and Gaza; and further recognises that while political opinion is often divided on the Israel/Palestine issue, there can be no better way than this to show support for innocent civilians on both sides of the conflict.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
