PRESIDENT OBAMA, OPENNESS IN POLITICS AND HON. MEMBERS' EXPENSES

EDM number 539 in 2008-09, proposed by John Mann on 21/01/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Members of Parliament.

That this House welcomes President Obama's inaugural speech statement that those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account - to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day - because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government; and endorses this principle in making our democracy open and transparent not least with respect to hon. Members and their expenses.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
