Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Week

EDM number 1066 in 2010-12, proposed by John Leech on 22/11/2010.
Categorised under the topics of Diseases and Health education and preventive medicine.

That this House notes that the week beginning 22 November 2010 is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Week; furthernotes with concern that pancreatic cancer has the worst survival rate for any cancer in the UK, with only three per cent. of people diagnosed with the disease surviving beyond five years; recognises that survival rates have not changed significantly in the last 40 years; welcomes the current guarantee of a two-week referral time for anyone with suspected cancer; further welcomes the all-party commitment to improve access to diagnostic tools for cancers, including pancreatic cancer; acknowledges the good work of Pancreatic Cancer UK to improve survival rates and quality of life by undertaking the Study for Survival; and calls on the Government to support Pancreatic Cancer UK's Study for Survival.

This motion has been signed by a total of 55 MPs.
