Airways Pension Scheme

EDM number 2050 in 2010-12, proposed by John McDonnell on 07/07/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Aviation and Pensions.

That this House notes with concern the resignations of Mike Post, Cliff Pocock and Graham Tomlin as trustees of the Airways Pension Scheme (APS) established in 1948 to provide pensions for employees of the airways corporations that later merged to form British Airways; further notes that they resigned in protest at the APS board decision to effectively cut members' pensions by shifting from RPI to CPI reneging on past commitments to members; and supports the call for a ballot of all APS members to determine the RPI/CPI question and for a full and transparent legal review into the governance of the APS Trust between 1983 and 2001.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
