That this House is gravely worried about the current situation in Yemen, a country where seven million people struggle to find enough to eat each day; notes that outbreaks of fighting in areas of South Yemen have resulted in the displacement of up to 40,000 people around Zinjibar and that 32,000 people have been displaced in North Yemem; further notes that the last meeting of the Friends of Yemen (FoY)was in 2010; is saddened that the US has had to suspend its aid operations in Yemen due to the current turmoil; welcomes the Department for International Development's announcement of a further 7.9 million in aid to the country; and urges the Government to call for a meeting of the FoY group as soon as possible.
