Protests At St Paul's Cathedral And The National Remembrance Sunday Service
EDM number 2313 in 2010-12, proposed by David Morris on 26/10/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Armed forces and Veterans.
That this House notes that protesters have created a permanent camp outside St Paul's Cathedral; further notes that the Cathedral is closed indefinitely as a resultandthat this means that the National Remembrance Sunday service is threatened; recalls the important role that St Paul's Cathedral played during The Blitz; respects the right of protest, but believes that the right to protest should not mean the cancellation of a service which commemorates those who sacrificed themselves for this very right; and therefore believes that the protesters should vacate the site so that the National Remembrance Sunday Service is not cancelled.
