Lower Paid And Part-Time Employees

EDM number 2707 in 2010-12, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 08/02/2012.
Categorised under the topic of Employment.

That this House acknowledges the Coalition Government's commitment to raising the threshold at which people begin paying income tax to 10,000 per annum; expresses the strong belief that in order to assist those working and earning a lower income but also to combat the black economy in areas of high deprivation, the Government should also commit to raising the threshold at which people begin to pay national insurance contributions to 10,000 per annum; and believes that this would particularly assist smaller businesses and part-time employees in those areas.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
